Bullring Ford "Shorty" (5.5 ft bed) Rail Cut & Installation Video
Bullrings are the premium tie-down anchor point for your Ford truck. While the stock anchors points are inside the bed where it’s hard to reach, Bullrings retractable anchor points easily install into the stake pockets on top of your bed rails. Simply pop the stainless steel anchor ring up when you want to use it to secure a load, then hit it down flush when you don’t. Each is made from stainless steel for a 1000lbs capacity, and comes with our “no bull” Lifetime Warranty. Bull Ring’s tie-down anchors are an essential Ford truck bed accessory.
America’s largest selling truck is not just the Ford F-150, but the F-150 with a 5-1/2’ bed. But on 1998-2014 F150's with a 5.5ft bed, and 2010-14 Ford Raptors, the stake pockets are covered over by the rail cap.
Bullring has specifically designed our 4055 Ford Shorty Truck Bed Anchor to fit into these stake pockets. For the installation we’ve developed a custom router bit that enables you to quickly and easily trim out the top plastic rail to a perfect match of the steel pocket underneath. The design of our router bit incorporates 4 roller bearings that run along the steel pocket as a guide and all without scratching or cutting the painted surface of the rail. The flush fitment of the anchor allows it to still work with most tonneau and sliding bed covers.

Just received these and installed. The 2 rings toward the rear of the truck installed flawlessly as shown. However, the 2 rings toward the front of the truck are not sitting flush. Can not get them to be flush. I removed the ones that worked as shown and tried them in the 2 problem spots, but they will not sit flush. Any suggestions?

There’s no installation instructions for these on your website.
On the product page for the 1066s, our description has instructions for install. We plan on releasing an install video in the near future as well. If you have further questions about the install, feel free to contact us and we will be happy to help you.

Helpful tip! Just installed this on my 2015 Colorado.
That hole, i dont have that same machine as the video but, will a regular drill work with making a hole with the included router bit???
We would highly recommend using a Router Drill because you can set the bit to the exact cut depth you need with our bit (13/16"), and it will stay at that depth for the entire cut. That way only the rollers touch the painted metal, and the blades only make contact/cut the plastic. Using just a regular drill will be a lot harder to control the depth, and you could very easily damage the painted metal.
What happens if the hooks are installed on a ram but then want to spray Bed line the rails would they still work?
Yes they should still work- I would just back out the screws and remove them- then re - install after spray. The spray is only 1/16” thick, so they will still work great and look even better
